I see that there are now 3 types allowed.

Classic, Basic & Advanced.

However, though I have not printed the pages I can not readily see any difference in the descriptions between Classic and Basic?

Just what are the differences allowed between these two "types"?

TIA

Classic is the original rules when the site started. In the Basic the only thing added is the winners submitting their originals,I think.

A nice suggestion of 1,2,3 scores to have a comment included.

I believe you are correct. I'm pretty sure from this point on the editing rules will be either Basic or Advanced.

huh? I don;t get it. What's the difference between basic & classic? I have to leave a comment on basic if I score a 1-3?

No, it is just suggested you leave a comment for a 1,2, or 3 vote.

So, other than this suggestion, what's the difference? I'm super slow today!

How I see it:

In terms of editing, Basic and Classic are the same. Classic has just been renamed.

In other terms, the Basic editing definition has some extra details, such as the suggestion for comments on 1,2,3 votes, the details about Request for Proof, and maybe some other small stuff. However, the actual rules as to what you can and cant edit are the same.

As mentioned earlier: Classic is what all the old challenges used. Basic is what the current and future open challenges will use.

Basic is being used to differentiate it from Classic since it is subject to further modifications, although probably not soon.

Hi All

I think I understand or should that be I am sorry I asked!

However, I am glad I am not the only one that was confused enough to wonder hence the reason I started the thread.

I think I will have to print the pages and read them with a highlighter pen to hand.

But "basically" the Basic or Classic is the very limited editing only while the advanced is 'almost' anything can be done subject to any qualifying extra rules. Oh, my head hurts - just have print that one out as well.

:~)

Is it allowed to use neatimage?

NeatImage is specifically allowed, but if you use it to an extreme for "artistic effect" as opposed to enhancing the photo-realism of the shot most folks (here) won't like it.
