Hey, I didn't know we had started!! :)

I will get an SP in tomorrow on this thread and post what I am eating...

I have begun to do my pilates and yoga again and that will be the bulk of my exercise plan. I will also be toning with some simple resistance using my exercise equipment... simple, yet effective :)

See ya'll tomorrow!! :D

Hey guys!

Count me in. I will put my gross pic up when I get home. Maybe it will motivate me. I haven't weighed myself in a while, but know I need to lose at least 45-55 lbs. But more than that, I just want to get in shape again so I don't feel tired climbing stairs.

I start teaching water aerobics again in a couple of weeks so I have to get in shape for that. It's the best excercise out there. The water provides so much resistance. Walking in chest deep water burns the same amount of calories as running on land, and it doesn't hurt!!

Anyway, I think this is great! I look forward to all the support.

Rebecca, do you have recipes for the strawberry salsa and the gingered asparagus? They sound so good!!!

I'd like the strawberry salsa too... yum!

Oh, and here is an SP...

well, I don't have an SP yet, but I did finally finish all of my paperwork to teach the water aerobics classes. I officially start on Monday! Yeah, I will be forced to start exercising again!

Best dessert in the world...fresh raspberries drizzled with a little bit of melted chocolate!!!!

I tried quitting several months ago. I went four days without incident, without even having a strong craving. I got cocky and went without a patch. Just the gum in my pocket. Wound up getting frustrated at work, kicking over a stack of boxes, and buying a pack.

Will try again shortly.

My goal is 50lbs, which will put me in the 235-240 range. At 6'4", I think 235 will leave me kind of ripped.

How's it going with everyone? How are we going to do this? We going to have a weekly update or some record keeping?

I still need to figure out my weight, but I know it is way too much. I have a pic, but it is so bad. I think I will use it as my before, but not until I get a pretty good after :-)

Any more food tips?

On a sandwich, I replace mayo with a very tasty rasperry vinegarette. It's super yummy and cuts tons of calories.

Going great Julie, you? I am doing the Atkins thing and for those others that are this is a pretty cool and very good substitute for breading for like chicken breasts or pork chops, grab the ol' food processor and toss in a bag of pork rinds and grind until they have the consistancy of corn meal, then just do a basic egg wash and dreage (sp?) both sides and fry. Tastes GREAT, I like it better than flour breading...My batteries went dead so again no pic tomorrow! promise! lol.

I like this idea. I notice not a lot of SPs yet. ;)
I would like to know what the requirements are.
count me in.
(gotta go dust off the scale... ick!)

I've lost 4 lbs so far...I'll try to get a sp done today or tomorrow. Still not seeing much difference, but better losing 4 than gaining any I suppose. :)

Really, pinching your nipples is not required.

Then again there's some other thread discussing the merits of perky nipples.

Maybe it is required. I can't keep the rules straight anymore.

Not pinching, rubbing!! ROFL, I figure everybody needs a good laugh, and if you can't laugh at yourself then...by all means laugh at someone else!!! In this case ME!!! LOL

I might be in on this. Too bad this didn't start towards the beginning of the year so I could see myself before already losing 60 pounds. Lots more to go though.

You gonna pinch your nipples too?

I would love to participate but having sold my 10-22 wide angle I lack the gear to capture my girth. Yes, even on a full frame camera.

I'd like to join this challenge starting on the Sep 1 date. I need to lose about 35 lbs to look my best. I think having to photograph and track my loss each week on here might be reaaaaalllly motivating. I'd like to see the changes in both my face and body, though will stay away from nudes so others don't get sick...

Sept 1 is my official start date. Its the "summers over, no more excuses" day

Hello ladies and gents! Saw this thread (and yes, I do have some poundage that I need to loose) and wanted to pass on a linky to a great site that might help everyone in their quest to lose some weight.

Anyone heard of Hungrygirl.com ?

They have some really great and TASTY recipes! I.E. if you love coffee/Frappuccinos from Starbucks but don't like the calories then Hungry Girl has the recipe to cut out the calories but not the taste.

Starbucks 16 oz Raspberry Mocha Frappuccino Blended Coffee: 390 Calories

HG's 16 oz Raspberry Mocha Madness Swappuccino: 63 Calories

Swappuccino

They even have a recipe for low-cal fried cheese sticks recipe! Something Leroy "the Cheeseman" might enjoy;-)

Arby's Mozzarella Sticks 4 pieces: 426 Calories

HG's Fiber-ific Fried Cheese Sticks 4 pieces: 155 Calories

Low-Cal Fried Cheese Sticks

I'm not sure if I will post a SP just yet - but I can say that since the kids school year has started I have been cycling them to and from school - not an easy thing to do in this humid tropical heat.
4 days of excercise = 1 pound lost.

OK, I am taking the plunge and putting on my pic. I apologize in advanced. My hubby took this and it is my "why do you have to take pics of me" look. Anyway, I could easily stand to lose 50-60 lbs.

I should do this. I had my annual physical on the 16th and my cholesterol was 264 which falls into the "high-risk" category. I was advised to go on a low-cholesterol, low triglyceride diet and exercise more. I don't really need to lose weight, I just need to eat healthier and be more active. I guess tromping around the woods with a 50+ pound back-pack full of camera gear for hours at a time isn't sufficient.
