Yesterday I cleaned my sensor, first by blowing and then using a Pec Pad with the methanol based solution. However, there is one spot that will not come off after trying about 6 or 7 times. I tried additional pressure but didn't want to ruin sensor so I stopped. The strange thing is that I don't remember this spot before I started cleaning.
I also cleaned my lenses right after but didn't think to try another lens until now. Perhaps during lens cleaning I actually deposited something.
The spot is top center:

Might be a scratch or chip. I'd take it into a the store you bought it and see if they can do anything for it.

If its in the hot mirror/glass and not under warranty. LifePixel sells replacement hot mirror's. |

Sandpaper should shift that bugger :)
No seriously i had a similar one a while back but it did go eventually using the pec pads. It took maybe 10 goes and quite a bit of pressure.
Keep at it, i`m sure it will budge.

I bought it from Newegg last August so that probably won't work. I was very careful when I cleaned it, or at least I thought so. I always pull a pad out by the edges, never touch part that will touch sensor, etc. |

A little late, but were there other dust spots before you started cleaning? If not, why did you clean it?
It does look like dust and not a scratch. But, do not use to much pressure and risk damaging the sensor. If you try again and it still doesn't come out, bring it to a reputable store for cleaning. They MAY tell you it's a scratch, but at least you'll know for sure.

There was plenty of dust there when I started, but this one didn't come off. I'm going to go back and check some pictures before I did the initial cleaning; it's possible it was there and I just never noticed. |
