Just read it this morning... sad loss for the big screen. I've always enjoyed his movies. RIP.

I like very much that this is in the Challenge Suggestion forum. There should be an In Memoriam Ingmar Bergman challenge.

I think that'd be a tough challenge for anyone under, oh, 40. I mean, I'm 40, I love movies, and I know his name, but I've never seen any of his movies. His last film was 24 years ago.

I know, I know, not everyone knows and loves Gary Larson, Dr. Seuss, the Rolling Stones, or Pink Floyd. But at least all of those have works that are currently popular.

Bill Walsh died today too. Sad. He was a really great coach. Of course having the best QB & receiver didnt hurt hs record. Still... kinda sad.

I never understood why people revered him the way they do.

perhaps because the movies aren't only special effects?

Lots of movies aren't special effects. He's been a "film god" since before special effects was even a catch phrase.

Perhaps if you were to see "The Seventh Seal" you might get an inkling.
