I am doing my first full wedding shoot in about 5 weeks. I have done an impromptu wedding and a reception B4, but never the whole thing. When taking pictures of the bride and groom in outside lighting, do I want to get a reflective meter reading from the brides face, her dress, or something in between? I obviously want her dress to be white, but want the groom's suit to not get washed out either. Thanks! |

Always expose for the bride. Get the detail in her dress. Forget the groom. But do try to get the lighting as low contrast as possible.

What Leroy said. Not sure if you have read this or not but there are some great tips in there. Actually the whole info is great.
