It appears that the new rules are in effect for National Geographic challenge. Does this mean that the new rules are in effect for member challenges permanently? A formal announcement would be nice! Or are we trying to sneak it in with no more debate threads?

Be patient :P I assume drew is just testing out the code for automatically putting the "Rules:" field in all the challenges which are queud. I'm sure an announcement will follow soon.

I hope so... It just feels like sneeking around!
Oh the general rules at a glance or whatever it's called still says 'No spot editing allowed'.

Also, if you click on Challenges (on the toolbar at the top), then click Challenge Rules, there is a type - "Please select a rul set to view."

| It is early in the morning and I might not be awake.... can anyone tell me the difference between BASIC and CLASSIC editing? I have read both sets and don't see the difference.... do I need to reread or maybe just go back to bed and try later? |

The 'Classic Editing' rules are what all the challenges prior to 11th Jan 2004 were held to, whereas the 'Basic Editing' rules only apply to Open challenges from 11th Jan 2004 onwards. Currently, both rulesets are identical, but the basic rules might change in the future - the idea being that the archived challenges will still have a copy of the older rules regardless. Make sense?

| The part I needed to know makes sense.... but I did get lost about the archived challenges. So, today the basic rules and classic rules are as they have been. Basic rules might change but classic won't? Am I close? |
