I bought a lens on Ebay nearly 3 months ago. A Sigma 70-200 2.8 for a really good price. However, when I got it back, it had a bad focussing problem. Slight front focus, but something else more major. Intermittent really bad focussing, particularly at close range. I had it checked out for repairs, just to confirm that yes, it had a problem. The private seller was really good, and offered to pay for the repairs, or give me a refund if they couldn't repair it.
Well, the repairs were quoted, and the seller sent me the money for the repair. This was all good, I was happy to wait the quoted 3-4 weeks for a repair. As a hobbyist, I'm happy to wait a little to get what I want for a price I can afford.
But that was 10 weeks ago! I'm getting sick of waiting. Apparently it needed a new circuit board, and they ordered the part, and they got the wrong part, and now they are trying to get the right part, and they don't know how long that will take. It will be at least another 2 weeks until I get it back, assuming all goes well.
The only contact I've had is when I've called them to find out whether it's ready yet, and then they have to ring the repair centre, which is in another city, and then they don't get back to me, and then I call them, and they still don't know, so they promise to call me back, and they don't, and I ring again. I'm finally calling the repair centre direct, and they can't tell me when it will be fixed.

I want my new lens, I want it working, and I want it NOW!
