Hi JBHale,
I'm not one of those who selects a camera by its make, but for the options I personally need as a photographer. A few years ago, I decided I wanted a digital SLR. I compared the Nikon and Canon and ended up deciding on the Canon 20D. One reason was 5 frames per second, compared to three on the Nikon. After a few years with my 20D, I am still in love truly in love with it! I use three lenses, that I am also very happy with. I shoot anything from landscapes, nature, macro and moving subjects ( people & animals, objects ect) I use a Canon EF 70-200mm F-4 L USM lens, a Tamron SP AF XR Di ( IF) 28-75 mm f-2.8 and a Tamron SP AF Di 90mm f-2.8 macro. I also use a 1.4 X's Canon Tele converter often combined with the above lenses. The Speedlite 580EX flash is also a great asset! Either camera is a good choice. It's just a matter of deciding which perhaps has an option and or options that would be better suited to you as a photographer! |
