Please do not jump all over me as I am only asking to increase my overall knowledge as to how things work. I am sure everything is on the up and up.

In the Natural light Portrait Challenge, I came across two different photos of the same model. My first thought was that someone entered twice, but I do seem to recall this is not legal, or something like that, so how do we end up with these photos? Are there family members on DPC who often submit similar photos? I actually like the idea because it shows how two people can look at the same model in two different ways.

You cant mention titles or descirbe the photographs! If anyones breaking the rules its you!

BTW its legal to use the same model between two people. They can even use the same camera. Husband and Wife? using the same model friends happens all the time. Since you asked.

There are several husband / wife and friends teams that shoot together. It is entirely possible for two people to shoot the same model and each enter the challenge.

You should edit your post to not mention which entries are in question.

It's true, in many contests there are photographs that seems captured in a very similar situations or two photographs of the same subject. i think that is normal that if there are, and there are, couple with same passion they capture images together. is also evident that if two or more users live in the same city sometimes they can go to shooting together.
we aren't only nick names :).

also some GTG can result in the same model. there could be 30 or so free study entries of the same photo shoots from the Europe GTG.

My two sons and I all submit photos and due to the time we sometimes shoot you will see entries that have the same person in in at times. I am not sure if this impacts on the voting or not.

We have also shot the same scene at times but I have we not entered the same yet. Once again, not sure how it would impact on voting.

One of my sons and I also share the same camera so we have to be carful of knowing who took what shot. So far out system works fine.

Thanks for all the assistance, it really is appreciated!

I know who you are talking about and I can say that there were 2 different photographers and they aren't related. I was on the GTG when the photos were taken. Hope this helps.

I'm gonna toss another wrinkle to the mix because it is going to happen (and probably already has)...

During a challenge don't assume when you see someone that you recognize from DPC that it is a Self Portrait.

I say this because several people at my workplace are getting into digital photography and have become members on dpc...

I have seen the cameras pointed in my direction quite a bit, just waiting to find myself in a challenge and not have taken the shot. That's ok 'cause they may find themselves entered into a challenge and not have taken the shot. :)
