Hi all,
I just found out that a local (Buffalo, NY) race organizer would like me to be the official photographer for an upcoming triathlon! Here is the gallery that got their attention. I'm thrilled to have an opportunity like this, but my usual second/assistant/best friend has had scheduling difficulties lately, and I'm not sure I can rely on her. (It's not her fault, btw. Family obligations.)
This will be a paid job, but, to be honest, I've never had to pay an assistant/2nd before. I'm still working out how much I can offer. The complication for me is that all money that I take in from this job will be from print sales. I have no idea how much this will be. I guess you could consider this more of a feeler at this point.
The only requirements are that you must have a DSLR and a suitable lens, and be able to travel to the event (Grand Island, NY - 5min. from Buffalo). This will be a daytime event so the most expensive glass isn't necessary. Any medium-long tele will do, a 70-200 would be perfect. If you have a Canon DSLR, I can provide a 70-200 f4.
After the race, I'll spring for lunch, where I will need to download all photos to a laptop. I'll take care of all the sorting and editing, so your obligation would end the day of the race.
