I mean, Shannon's a monster, a freak. How can anyone have that much creativity and talent? To be able to conceive and execute as he does, consistently?

I am pretty sure it's a potent combination of steroids and powerful hallucingens. I suggested drug testing in the rules, but I backed off when I realized I might be tested as well.

He's not so hot. His total time photographing this week was a whole 3/160th of a second. Lol...

That was weird when I actually looked at the shutter speed and they were all the same. So one of each ribbon AND with the same shutter speed.

Exactly! No coincidence either that the name Shannon Calvert is actually an anagram for "Rant Van Lechson" - the very same person the Rant forum was named after!

The jig is up, Shannon! ...and you mighta got away with it if it weren't for those pesky kids and their stupid dog!

Shannon, can you please tell us up front about that challenge that you would be participating in so that we or at least I will not submit my entry otherwise I will be out and I am pretty sure about that. Anyway as of today I am out and not doing good, but I will have excuse to say ;);)

Way to go Shannon!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

I interupt this thread, just to point out there are not nearly enough Scooby Doo refrences on DPC.

Hats off to Shannon!

I think he and De Sousa have waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much free time on their hands! ;-)

Reading their setup and PP details boogles the mind.

Considering the concepts and technical skill you've shown, I'd appreciate it if you'd get off your knees. It's hard to breathe under here. ;-)

Just for fun I ran some numbers on 2 of DPCs most prolific ribbon gatherers.

Scalvert
Challenges 170
Ribbons 40(!) or 23.5%
Top 5 - 46 or 27%
Top 10 - 67 or 39.4%

Note: Shannon didn't win a ribbon until his 42nd challenge, even more impressive when factoring in the growth.

De Sousa
Challenges 34
Ribbons - 11 or 32.35%
Top 5 - 16 or 47%
Top 10 - 20 or 64.5%

Folks, these are sick numbers for both. ;-)

We stand in awe.

I feel fortunate that I have met you in person - not that I didn't before this recent spree of your three ribbons.

Dang! I should have taken your autograph, before you start charging for one :P

Jeez! And he seemed so much like a regular person when I met him. Way to go, Ribbon Hog!
07/19/2007 10:52:52 PM · #45
i'm convinced the only reason i won a ribbon is because scalvert did not enter that particular challenge.
07/19/2007 10:57:59 PM · #46
I think Shannon is the reason DPC has exclusive challenges
