When i try and start photoshop it starts loading, then when it's finished it becomes unresponsive.
Last time i ran it i got 'Scratch Disks are full', so i changed teh scratch disk onto a different internal HDD with 250GB free, quit, got an 'unrecoverable' error (relating to the scratch disk) and since then it doesn't load.

I've tried clearing any '~pst####' files but couldn't find any on any of my hdd's. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling, still no joy.

Can anyone help please!?
Thanks so much.

Hey Ben,

What version of Photoshop are you working with?

Steve

ETA:

Have you tried the things mentioned here.

You can also try this if you are using Winblows:

Open the "RUN" window and type "%temp%" (without the quotes). Do a shift-del to remove these files without putting them in the recycle bin.

I'm (trying) to run CS3.
I'm on Vista aswell when i tried the '"%temp%' thing in run it say it cannot find C:\...\temp. :S

Yeah i've tried everything on that page, except defragging, which i'll start now.

*Edit* I'll manually go into users/app data/local/temp and shift+deleted all files.

See if %tmp% is accurately defined. Or right-click my computer, properties, advanced, environmental variables, edit the entry for TEMP to something sensible.

Ok, let's assume i've deleted any possible .temp files, which i'm pretty sure i have.
Anything else?

Did you try what I suggested? Just curious because that error is saying that what the system defines as 'temp' is not a valid directory.

Yes,i've been into my temp folder and deleted everyfile in there. So that's done.

I've also tried 'reloading' the program, also uninstalling and re-installing, with no change whatsoever.

I'm stumped.

Well, I haven't suggested deleting everything in your temp folder. Good luck!

RouterGuy is talking about the System Temp Folder

Temp files are in two areas... there is the user one you mention and then the system one... usually C:\windows\temp

To check where it is or change.

Press and hold Windows Key + pause/break (fastest way to bring up the System Properties dialog.

(For Vista)
Click Advanced System Settings
Near the bottom of the dialog click Environment Variables... button
(top window is your user variable, bottom is the System Varibles)
Scroll down the bottom window to temp and and you will see the location.

hold down ctrl+shift+alt when loading Photoshop and say yes when it asks you if you want to delete the settings file..

Hold ctrl, alt, shift, cmd while dragging your Windows machine to the trash bin. Then go buy a Mac.

Sorry, I had to say that. Good luck!

Back to the problem again.
Every third time, roughly, it starts ok when holding shift+alt+ctrl, the other times it doesn't start properly.
