Hi, you guys. I need your help.
I received an email this morning from somebody telling me that this person was showing my coffee/milk images on webspots and claiming them to be his. He's actually been featured by Webspots on them.
//entertainment.webshots.com/album/558885815ywWPUx?start=0
I checked it out and he actually writesâ€Â¦.. “I was sitting around bored today, this is what I came up withâ€Ã¢€Â¦..
4 of the coffee shots are not mine, but the other ones with the drops and splashes are. He̢۪s helped himself to them from my pbase site.
I tried joining the site to contact him directly, but for some reason (probably the red anger fog in front of my eyes) I can’t get it to work. I also want to inform the site admins of the theft and can’t find the contact email addressâ€Â¦.. Damn! Damn!
I̢۪s SO mad about this. I get a lot of people downloading my pics and posting them on their blogs and such without asking my permission, but this is a different kettle of fish altogther.
I̢۪d be really grateful for any help you can give me.
Thanks!
Irene

Thanks a million Nick! I just couldn't find the contact address.
I'll get on to them when I get home from work this afternoon. |

What he meant was "I was sitting around bored today, this is what I stole..."

Good luck Irene, Webshots is pretty good about taking down stolen photos, they've done it for me before.

Currently at 9:50 AM (GMT -5.00), I didn't see any of the 16 pics that matched the one you got a Blue Ribbon for ( coffee with a "drop" of milk ). I'm not sure if that's the one you were referring to. It must have been removed. |

Thanks Karen and Jeff.
I've written to the site admins and hope the images will be removed soon. Will let you know. |

John, there are 12 of my images here:
//entertainment.webshots.com/album/558885815ywWPUx#forum
The four images in the white coffee cups are not mine. The rest are.
They weren't stolen from this site, they were stolen from my pbase site:

Irene,
I see there were a lot of downloads, also. If the thief has made any money from the downloads you might want to request that webshots withhold any payment still due and send the check to you.
Never offer your best work for sale as a high res. download. Sell prints only. You have invested too much time creating your wonderful photos to have them stolen.
Good luck

Michele, I wish you would.
I've tried to join webshots a few times today so that I could comment, but no way will it work. It seems to be so easy, but when I then try to log in, I get an error message. |

Message left....
So... you were sitting around bored and came up with the idea to steal my friend's photos off of her website, and then have the nerve to claim them as your own??? For Shame!!!
Then in another spot...
Hi Faye, You stole those coffee photos and claimed them as your own, you took all the credit that should be hers... Those belong to someone I know! You are a thief.... for shame!

I had no problem creating an account and leaving a comment (although my comment was partially censored) I see a few other users have commented also. I doubt if a person who steals other's work is going to be bothered by any comments. There is also a "report violations" link on the right hand side of the page which may do more good. I sent the admins a link to this thread. Seems like a reputable site that would want to eliminate thiefs. |

Irene.... I contacted webshots with this message....
Member "mozingo1" has stolen photos from a friend of mine....(IRENE MULLER) who lives in Germany... She is currently trying to become a member so she can address this problem, however she is having problems signing up. I wanted to alert you of the problem, and start the ball rolling on this issue.
The photos in question are coffee photos in mozingo1's album. Please take appropriate action. You may contact me further until Irene's membership goes into effect.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I saw your comments, thanks a lot Steve.
I wrote to the site admins earlier on telling them about the theft.
Karen says that webspot's good about taking down stolen photos so I'm hoping for the best.
I already received word from them that they were looking into it. |

Yeah. I just got a message from webspots that they were deleting my 12 shots from the page. Now it seems the whole album's been deleted.
They reacted really quickly. Good job. |
