Are you on a mac or xp? |
I'm xp. I haven't tried the manual color adj. Just getting used to some of the other features and what they do. Manual seemed very/too flexible. Is it legal with the current challenges (action, night, etc.)? It seems very simple. I'll give it a go on my next set of test pics. |

The shadow/highlight dialog...
As you can see you can adjust this to your heart's desire. This tool is incredibly useful, and though you can in fact get similar (not quite as good) results with curves adjustment, I find that the shadow/highlight tool is both much faster and more intuitive, as well as providing a moderately superior result.

Shadow/Highlight in Photoshop CS is under Image>Adjustment. You can adjust the dark areas (shadows) and the lighter areas (highlights) according to what looks good to you. Mind you I don't know what settings work for most photos, I just go by what to me looks better.
Image>Adjustment>Selective Color and I picked white to boost it. You can choose any color you want to adjust.
I believe these features are found in most image editors.

Thanks to you and kirbic for the shadow/highlight info. I know psp7 has this tool.
Zeuszen - you two tools did very similar jobs with a few strokes. I guess it's what you know how to use. Thanks for the two versions. |
