I went with the Vivitar Digital Flash DF200. My camera does not have a hotshoe, and it had the 5 pin connector which required a special connector. This flash works as a slave unit which accompanies the small flash already present in my camera...either on the supplied bracket or on the small tripod that came with it. Lots of features on this flash for a lot of control... 4 power ratios: full power, 1/4th, 1/8th and 1/16th. It has five zoom ranges...it has a bounce angle from 0 to 90 ( mutiple detents) and swivels from 330 ( mutiple detents). The flash has a profiling system and it can learn the flash pattern of any digital camera. I believe I am going to be pleased with it once I experiment with the different settings. I wish my camera had a hot-shoe, but I am confident this flash will more than make up for that lacking detail!!
