I recently bought a new monitor that I am using with photos. I noticed that the color of my photoblog on this monitor is not the same as it appears on my old one (the background is more green than sepia). My latest post received a comment to the effect that the color was a little off, but without any explanation. Since monitors can vary I would appreciate any comments on the photo posted at the moment. Does the color appear off to you? What color is the background around the photo? (Just so you'll know, the photo was made at sundown with the clouds being a sort of pastel peach/orange color and the cliffs and water were in shadow.) The link is here.

I'd hate to be unknowingly submitting photos to DPC with poor color (I have enough challenges with photography without the added problem of color issues).

Thanks for any help you care to give. I really appreciate it.

The color 'around' the photo looks light grey to me.

The "puff" of spray dead center behind the rocks has a very light purplish look to it.

The rocks/cliff are dull dark w/o much color.

There is a little light "yellowish" in the clouds at the top right.

My monitor is calibrated with Spyder.

Have you looked in to calibration?
