With only kit lens right now.
What are must have lens for me?
I do a lot of portraits and sports action photos, and want to get into some fashion type photography as well. |

If money is not an issue, these two would be my first choice
AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED
AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR DG IF-ED |

| Haha, let me edit then by saying - Money is indeed an issue (and its not at the same time I guess....all of this is an investment, and you get what you pay for) |

you really should get the cheap and fabulous 50mm/1.8. I have heard great things about the 70-200.
What is your budget? |

| So the 50mm f/1.8 is a good choice? Right now, I dont wanna spend more then $500 per lens...so im not looking to go nuts. Im also in the process of convincing my mother to switch to Nikon, so we can split the cost of some of these lens since its for the business. |

| Must have lenses come with experience. It's something only you can decide. It all depends on how you shoot and what you are good at. People can tell you what would be a good lens to do a particular shot in a certain way, but it doesn't mean it's a must have lens for you. |

When your ready to spend a little more. The nikon 80-200 2.8 is great for sports. The 85mm 1.8 is a very nice lens for portraits if you have a little room to work with and it should fall in around your price range.

| I'll agree that the 50mm 1.8 should run you from $90-$130 depending on where ya grab it, and its definately worth getting. |

LOL!!! Enjoy the D70s - I am now very jealous of all photogs with functioning DSLRs - back to my 2MP Elph for a while.

i would also advise the nikon 50mm 1.4 if you are up for spending an extra hundred or so, i got mine for $190ish on ebay, its a great lens, but you will love the 1.8 too. Best of luck,

| Just picked up the 50mm f/1.8 on my lunch break, snapped a couple of quick shots just to get a feel for the lens...and based off of the display screen results, Im very very very happy with this $115 investment. |

| Didn't I tell you? I love that lens! Its amazing. You have to do a little more running about to get the compositions you want as its a prime, but its well worth it! |
