don't sell your lens, get a job somewhere or just stick to your home. this could be a great time to explore self portraiture or accentuating the ordinary around where you live :) |

Don't sell the lens. It would be more expensive to get it back again. In the meantime, go hitchhiking, or get whatever job and some money and then travel. |

Why don't you use the lens to make some money? Portraits and weddings are always a good source of income. I don't know about the UK but senior portraits are a huge market in the US.

PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE LENS. I JUST WANT TO TALK TO YOU. But seriously, don't sell it. Be a poor college kid with a nice lens. Get a boring job and then you'll appreciate your photography time that much more and you'll have money. |

You do not have to travel to take great pictures there are unlimited amount of beautiful and amazing things right under your nose. The everyday things that surround you to someone else may be very foreign and exotic. Location does not make a great photographer a great photographer makes a location great. |

Inspired words, and about 75% true. :-)
The other 25% need to be met by, what I call, [b]negative capability[/i]. |

Listen, I'm here to help. Kindly send me the lens... I'll hold on to it for "safekeeping" while you recover from this obvious break with reality you're suffering from. Once I feel you have missed your lens sufficiently, I'll return it to you.

How about I buy the lens and agree to sell it back at the same price at a predetermined point in the future? Jejejeâ¢

Haha... we all go to England... AND Liverpool... to take some of the most incredible shots ever... and you need to travel to find the shots.
You have so many subjects available to you. Pretend you are not from Liverpool and you know nothing about the area. Go out and take pictures that look typically Liverpoolian (sigh! Wrong I know) to you and that would impress and delight all of us across the water.
I will keep my eye out for your photography so post a bunch here. You have great potential...use it!!!

Friggen Larus...
Has 12 out of 18 top scores for that 85mm lens. Then he went out and bought the L version.
