Casper Star-Tribune

Photographer-writer

Casper, Wyoming November 16, 2007

Website: //casperstartribune.net

Maybe youâre a writer who can shoot. Maybe youâre a shooter who can write. Maybe youâre not sure.

Hereâs the ideal job for a versatile visual-verbal journalist. Wyomingâs leading newspaper needs a talented individual who can report, write and shoot for print and the Web.

This newly created job recognizes the flexibility necessary in todayâs fast-changing media environment. Youâll cover a mixture of spot and enterprise stories. Sometimes youâll write, sometimes youâll shoot, and sometimes youâll do both. Often youâll turn around a quick report for the Web, then produce a more detailed package for the morning paper.

Weâre not asking for much: Just a reporter who can write innovative, people-oriented stories â but who also is comfortable analyzing a budget, asking hard questions, and finding the news that matters. Also, a photographer who finds strong, story-telling images, and who can do ambitious slide shows, audio and video for our Web audience.

Youâll need a bachelorâs degree, an inquisitive mind, flexibility, and an appreciation for Western life.

About us: In Wyoming, a state with only half a million people, our 30,000-circulation daily is the stateâs biggest media voice. Our readers demand heads-up reporting of breaking news, plus metro-quality enterprise journalism. The paper has undergone rapid change in the past three years, with a new management team, a total redesign and aggressive content improvement. Driven by our passion for excellence, we were named 2005âs âEnterprise of the Yearâ by our parent company, Lee Enterprises. Weâve won the Wyoming Press Associationâs trophy for general excellence among daily newspapers for the past two years.

We offer a strong package of pay and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and stock purchase plan, plus the chance to live amid Wyomingâs outdoor splendor. (Hereâs a sample: Does your cityâs recreation department run its own downhill ski area? Our does!)

See our Web site at //www.casperstartribune.net. Learn about our parent company at //www.lee.net. We are an equal-opportunity employer.

Then send your resume, portfolio, writing and a list of references by Oct. 26 to:

Clark Walworth Editor The Casper Star-Tribune P.O. Box 80 Casper, WY 82602
