How are you guys creating your portfolio pages. My website is up and running and I'm not really satisfied with the way my portfolio page is. Fotoman and Judi, I like how you have your set up. I try to us Gallery2 for mine, but it doesn't fit in with my website background.

I find that strange. A couple of months ago they decided to switch my site over to a new server as they were sorting out their sites to make things a little easier for everyone. They told me they would not delete it off the old server until they heard from me. I had absolutely no problems with the switch. The only hiccup was my guestbook disappeared. I sent them a reply to their email and they fixed it for me. I didn't lose any previous guestbook entries...it was all back to normal. I have found my maintenaince work in my site folders to actually be quicker on this new server than the last.

So all in all...even though it was a sudden move....and with only one small hiccup...I had no downtime and improvements in the end.

J

P.S. I would still highly recommend them.

I have 2 sites with Godaddy.com and I love them. You have full control over what you do and what you want. I have the deluxe package with ASP. I don't remember what I paid for it but I know it wasn't over $150.00.

I pay like $8 a month for one and 4 a month for my other.

I switched all my accounts to Godaddy. $6.99 for
100,000 MB of space! And I have never noticed any of the many sites I deal with ever being down once.

I am also starting to use it as remote file backup since I have so much space on there.

What did you not like about SmugMug?

I use 1and1 and they are great!! Not very expensive and I have complete control over my site. I get like 50 email addresses, a ton of space, and more. It's really good for the price. :)

I did the trial for smugmug too... I couldn't figure out how to do the simplest things on it much less personalize it :(

I'm website-building challenged!
