Would appreciate any recommendations for book on photography I can learn from to make my shots better. Especially lighting.

Hi Evelyn. I have quite a library of books that have helped me through the years. Rather than list them all I would suggest you go to Borders or Barnes & Noble and sit down in the photography section and browse your heart out. They have such a great selection. Specifically look for books by Amherst Press - those are my favorites, they're consise, written by pros and full of illustrations to help make the points. As for websites --- goggle is your friend, but be warned, you may loose months reading all of the info that is available out there.
Read a bit - try what you've learned - read some more. You'll be improving like mad in no time! :)

I was going to ask the very same think today! There is book that I've heard mention is really good about understanding light, it might even be called "understanding light"! But I'd love to know for sure! |

I guess you mean Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure, which is a must for someone with a camera. I guess... |

Well...a trip to the bookstore and the library...
Digital Photography an Introduction by Tom Ang
Digital Macro Photography by Ross Hoddinot
The Magic of Digital Nature Photography by Rob Sheppard
Perfect Digital Photos in a Snap (A Beginners Guide) by Probert & Cope
Photographing Your Garden by David Bjurstrom
and of course......
Digital Photography for Dummies...(actually only $3 at the Friends of the Library bookstore and came with the CD)
Just enough to confuse me and perhaps make me dangerous!
And Two Digital Photography magazines with camera reviews to help me pick out an upgrade.

Fixed the link. Her course helped me getting back into photography after many years of layoff.
