My fiancee asked me to donate a shot for her organization, the Progressive Alternatives Society of Calgary, to auction off. They work with people with developemental disabilities and their goal is to integrate these people into their communities. PASC believes in inclusion and integrated activities/jobs that enrich people's lives rather than providing the stereotypical segregated jobs and activities which further devalue people with disabilities.
The outgoing president is a bit of a grain elevator nut. He actually sat on the roof of the grain elevator in High River for a week in an attempt to save it. Because of this she thought I should donate my triptych entry from here. (Each shot was printed individually with some better post processing).
Final price? $110. The gentleman who purchased it is moving out to Toronto and wanted a piece of Alberta to take with him. Of course my piece didn't quite get the same amount as the top seller ($400) which was a painting purchased by the man's mother but I am still pretty please in any event. My fiancee had a good laugh when I introduced myself to the buyer because he was so pleased to actually meet me. (Just like a real photographer!)
I'm still pretty stoked however the voters have knocked my ego down a bit with their current votes. Oh well :)
