I have been wanting a Portable Digital Storage Device, like a Epson P-3000, for a while now but could never justify the cost. Then the other day I was looking for a new portable mp3 player for use in my car and such, and I stumbled onto the Creative Zen Vision. Like the other Zen players, this one plays mp3s but it also plays videos and well, about anything else. But that is not what caught my eye. The fact that it has a CF card reader on the side of it did. So I did a little reading and it turns out that this device should work well as a storage device. It is not as feature filled in terms of photography use as the Epson but the Zen is better at everything else, especially battery life (13 hrs vs 3 hrs for the Epson).

Anyhow I found it on sale at Newegg.com for $255 with a $80 mail-in rebate. That makes it $175 in the end and that is much much cheaper than the $500 for the Epson.

I ordered mine on Friday and is should be here on Wednesday. Anyone used a Zen Vision as a PDSD?
