Just to clarify, so far no one has requested a DQ on my shot. If they do that would be ok, I have original and all.... and thanks to everyone who has commented. |

I've had a bunch of DQ requests. I consider it praise.
If some of the photographers on the site can't figure out how I captured a particular effect. Im flattered and glad to send in proof. I enjoyed the no edit challenges for that aspect of it, but I much prefer to edit as I need to make my shots as good as they can be.

no comments allowed please.
1. judging takes me long enough without adding a paragraph per pic to the mix thank you.
2. just as an example - ever see zeuszen write? bet you won't mistake his style for anyone else's anytime soon - he's wicked smaaat. The possibility of distinguishing users before voting ends is not a good thing.
3. slippery slope - it will go from photographer comments to photographer lobbying - people will start writing what they think that you want to hear in order to recieve a higher score. Begging sucks.

I always judge photos on their own merits, on what they say to me, not on what equipment was used or how the final result was obtained. And rarely on what the photographer's intent may have been (an exception is Motivational Poster, where I'm giving lower scores if what the photo conveys doesn't match the text). I think everyone should! (I might get higher scores!) But for this reason (as well as the ones xhoss listed), I would prefer that the comments remain hidden during viewing. |
