Unbelievable...you could feed how many people with 19M?

Linky works fine, except you need to copy it lol. Yea Crazy. In my area you could only build two schools for 19 million.

well, you can't, and shouldn't, mandate charity. and we don't know that Damien Hirst doesn't donate a lot of his earnings to worthy causes. also, perhaps the buyer is (obviously) super-rich. just because they spent a lot on a painting doesn't mean they haven't donated a large amount to charity, as well.

the way i read the article, the work was not being sold by the artist but a collector who had paid 730,000 pounds for it previously.

i don't know that the artist received any of the proceeds from yesterday's sale.

i'm just sayin'...

yea but didn't the article say he has made 130 pounds from his art. not to shabby.

agreed. everyone knows bill gates has tons of money but he gives tons and tons to chairity. and Warren Buffet to it even further.

I told my daughter that I would only pay for her to go to art school if she majored in something where she can get a job (graphic design, illustration, etc.). Maybe I should rethink that and tell her to paint some pills. Or "churn out spin and spot paintings and even spliced animals".
