Once you figure that one out, I'm curious to know what it looks like from a country near the equator. Sideways?

Should be, poles to the sides. Mighty weird-looking, I'm sure. I wonder how many astronomical shots are rotated to put the North Pole at the top?

Don't some Nikons have an auto-rotate feature? Is there an option for hemisphere?

I don't think that the card will go in backwards??? If I turn the camera around, I just get out-of-focused pictures of my smiling face???

Has to do with what way you face, north or south. Or if you are standing on your head. :)
