Currently, in Photoshop CS, when I go to file>open, it defaults to the last folder i opened something from, which is good, however it is displayed in list view. I change it to thumbnails so I know what file I'm opening, but then next time i open something it has gone back to lsit view. This is annoying as I would like to be able to see what i'm opening. Is there any way to set 'Thumbnail' to the default option?
In WinXP I've set thumbnail to the default in explorer, but through PS-CS it doesnt seem to work. In PS7 it used to keep thumbnail as the default browse option. How do I do this in CS?

I could use the File Browser but this is slower it seems, and I don't get preview images for what's in the folder, which I need really, or I'll be searching around for ever.

Ben, you are not getting image previews in the browser? Try opening the browser, going to the pull-down menus, choose "view" and look to see that one of the thumbnail options is checked (as opposed to "details")

I get previews for image files, but not for folders. I would like to see one of the photos that is it the folder for the folder thumbnail (xp style), so i know which folder is which.

Ahh yes, now I see what you mean... the setting is definitely not sticky. I don't see any settings that would affect this either, seems like somewhat an oversight on Adobe's part. Kinda annoying.

Doh... it's one of those tiny but annoying things that make me want to use PS7 instead :P
