Out of curiosity, how do you figure that?

Well, I'm not high enough for a ribbon, but I'm hopefully somewhere in the Top 10. it's just a guess...

Plus you can't fight karma.

I was thinking the same thing! I wonder how many other photos in challenges "get away" with it because validation isn't required.

Given that I think the mistakes were honest ones (deleted card, not understanding the rules for newbies), I don't think a lot of folks are trying to "get away with it". I think everyone basically sticks to the rules.

Can it be due to purity of Zen, thats pulling everything down while climbing up! Personally I love that shot and the story behind it!

Edit : sorry, English not being my first language I tend to do mistakes :)

When i see the disqualification page, i could see four images for which we had originally #1, #2, #3 and #4.
Has this ever happened before that first four images got disco.

Dear SC....

There are another 238 images in pure which I believe should be disqualified can you look into this and insist on see original files.

Coincidentally I was 239th in the challenge and if you need to see my original file before you give me my ribbon that will come from you taking the action as suggested above its here and ready to go

Edited to add...lucienaw....The user has been banned....Whats that about or shouldnt I ask

Still amazes me on how the title of a photo can make any Challenge into a free study.

TIP: EXIF tampering is the fastest route to permanent banishment. Don't even try it.

Don't worry about it - things happen. :) Doesn't look like anyone was calling you a cheater. Anyone who actually does is just part of the rampant lot of insensitives who forget that there are people standing behind the camera.

You're in good company on that one, it has happened to lots of us. Entered this shot and ribboned with it the week I got my new camera, and didn't notice the time-stamp discrepancy until they called for validation:

Your attitude is quite admirable. Congratulations on a great photo.

My sympathies. Personally, it was a little startling to go from 13th to 9th. My one DQ (in Low Key) was a 4th place finisher, with an illegal layer that didn't modify the results one whit, but I learned a good lesson. Like Art said, that pink ribbon on my profile page is rather festive.

I trust it is fixed now. ;)

For that matter, , everyone, leave the keyboard and go get your camera and check the date, now.

It is actually probably a good idea to check the date every so often anyway. I know most contests are as rigid as dpc as far as only having a week to shoot and enter, but almost every contest I've seen has some kind of date requirement, and who knows when they might want to check . . .

Actually, this isn't always true... sometimes the people are standing in front of the camera. Self portraits you know. ;D
