Hi All and thanks for looking!
I took a few snaps at a small local car show at the weekend.
I don't normally like selective de-sat, but think it actually works quite well on the first shot. These cars were just parked in a semi organised fashion in a large stadium car park, so the backgrounds are not great, I know...
What do you think?

I like the selective desat idea but in some, it's not so apparent. Like the red car...the people in the background are still in color but I think they'd be better greyed out.
The borders work great with the old cars too. |

Thanks...
It is only the first and last that have had the backgrounds de-saturated. "Starsky and Hutch's" Gran Torino has only had the car behind it desaturated due to the fact it stood out so much - It is actually the Blue Ford from the first pic!
I tried to create a kind of postcard effect with the text outside the border. I wasn't sure if the font was right at first, though as you said, I think it works with the old cars. |

Thank you!
I like to get down low when shooting stills of cars as I feel it gives them more "presence". |

These are really good photos. My husband and I are restoring our 53 FX Holden (it was his dads who was the original owner) and I would like to take some really great shots of it. These give me a good idea of what to look for.
I am hoping to make it available for graduation shots in November. I cant wait.
When it is ready I will no doubt take heaps of shots and present some here for your 'perusal'.
