I am looking for a macro ring flash that will fit a 77mm lens. The Sigma EM 140 has a ring adapter that will fit that size lens but am I giving up quality ie. versus the Canon MR-14EX (which will not fit that size lens). I want the ability to use the larger 24 -70mm lens size so I can take very close up portrait photos without giving up the depth of field which you sacrifice when using a macro lens. Bottom line is does anyone have a Sigma 140 and are you happy with it? Thanks for your opinion.

This may be a bit in right field, but I have the ABR800 which has the power to be used as a standard flash as well as a macro ringlight with my 150 sigma macro/20d combo.

Good flash but not as convenient for typical outdoor macros.

Thanks for the suggestion Adam. I hadn't seen that flash before. I agree with Len that it looks like it is best for studio work.

Sorry for the delay in answering. Very busy week for me. I have the sigma ringflash and I love it. Its very easy to use and I've found the learning curve to lighting macro's with it to be pretty small. It does take some getting used to, but the ETTL works pretty well. I'd recommend it, however I cant say that I've used it for portrait lighting however I could in a week or so get to trying it if you wanted an example.
