If you want to find out what it may be quick and without seeing a doctor right now, go to your local pharmacy. A pharmacist will usually give you a good idea of what it may be and let you know if you need to see a doctor or if there is something OTC that would help. I find that pharmacist sometimes know more than a doctor (PCP) about things like this and medication. It's worth a trip to you local pharmacy especially if you go there often to have any medication filled. |

Meanwhile, quickly do a reshoot for the Puzzle Macro Challenge.
It definetely seems to be puzzling.
The go see a real doctor, or two. There is nothing to hate except paying the bill. A Dermatologist should be able to help you. |

Buy some cream they sell for athletes foot, apply. If its a fungal infection it will go away. If not, it wont. Then see doctor. Looks fungal tho, and in my house that gets you treated with anti fungal. If it gets worse or doesn't go away then you get silver sulfadiazine for infection then if no inprovement the doctor lol. Family of doctor lovers, can you tell? NOT LOL |

I asked because we've all experienced things in life non-photography related, and since I RRRRRREALLY hate going to the doctor, I thought I'd ask the most varied group of people I know if they've experienced something like it and MAYBE that'd save me time and cold hands of the doctors. Or if it was something weird, you all (like you have) would direct me in the direction of the nearest physician.
I was never raised with the mentality of going to the doctor for every little scrape and mutant alien jock strap imprint on your face. I'm sorry I made people uncomfortable. I'm really not as stupid as some of you think I am, we were just raised differently is all :)
SO anyway, back to my face. It doesn't itch at all. And I didn't even notice it there, but when I touch it, it burns. It's not really dry or scabby to the touch. And the red part is like an imprint, not raised. |
THERE IS A FLESH EATING BACTERIA THAT CAN ATTACK THE FACE AND THE ONLY WAY TO TREAT IT IS WITH ANTIBIOTICS. IT WILL NOT CLEAR UP ON IT'S OWN. IT WILL EAT YOUR FACE OFF IF YOU DON'T SEE A DOCTOR IF THAT HAPPENS TO BE WHAT IT IS. IT IS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS!!! THIS IS YOUR FACE!!! GO SEE A DOCTOR PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
That is NOT ringworm and unless you touched a car cigarette lighter to your face, I would go see a doctor ASAP. Remember, the longer you wait, the more damage it has the potential to do. This may not be some trivial little bump or scratch. It also could be some trivial little bump or scratch. Either way, your doctor will know and will also know a way to take care of it. |

I wasn't raised to run to the doctor for every little thing either, but if I don't have the foggiest notion of what it is, then you bet I'm going to go to the nearest walk-in clinic for an explanation. I think this one is worth the trip.

Well, I had a severe case of ringworm and it did not look like that. It was definitely raised and itched like "I'll git out!". I would have said ignore it for a few days until I read TCGuru's post and googled necrotizing fasciitis. EEEK!
I hope you consult a professional, and please keep us posted. |

OMG Men actually think that way! Skip, that's horrible! lol
I've also had a ringworm, years ago. Did look different from that, but I'd definitely get the doc.... or even a pharmacist (sometimes they're pretty smart) to have a look at it.

A firefighter buddy rescued a kitten from a burning house and gave it to me & my sis. Within a week both of us and 3 of our friends all had ringworms. It was sooooooooooo itchy!! Mine was on my arm. lol

I have to agree on it not being ringworm. I had it in high school. We used to share gym mats with the wrestler's... and they had an outbreak, and I guess didn't clean the mats good enough, because 85% of the female gym students had it. Most of us had it on our legs and butts (we were working out and doing things where we sat down).
Ringworm is raised up in a ring and itches like hell!!! Your's seems like an indentation of some sort. I would go get it checked out... just to be safe (sorry.. it's the mommy and hypochondriac in me!)
Keep us posted

Well, went to see my step mom whos an EMT/basically vet and she gave me some cream to put on it. She said it looked like a bite of some sort which probably freaks me out more because what the friggin heck bites that big!? My friend Jon said a mouse...gross.
Anywho, the cream made the redness go away, so perhaps it was a bite.
NASTY!
