well kinda. I just got my Nikon d70s that is fully converted for IR. operating the camera will take some getting used to but so far so good. gotta say that it is very cool to be able to take IR shots at normal speeds.
here are a couple of quick shots of my street.
and here is an indoor IR shot of the studio.

Cool. I want one. I have a friend who was trying to sell a D70 awhile ago, I am going to see if it is still for sale. Maybe I can get a bargain.

Were you running a filter on the lens for those shots?
Ooops, forgot to ask. When the 70s is converted to IR is the sensor exposed directly to dust now, or is there a cover glass?

i bought the replacement 'hot mirror' from this site and got it shipped to the UK where i used a camera repair shop to change it.
just got it back today from the shop, so going to test it ASAP!!

it is the glass in front of the sensor that is replaced!

no filter which is the best part. you can just shoot regular speeds and not have to fiddle with a filter. there is a new piece of glass over the sensor. |
