Vikas, there's a local dealer here who seems to get the 18-200 in stock and keep it long enough that you might get one. Perhaps they would ship to you.

I put myself on their waiting list, and in about a week he called me and told me he had it. I just told him to hold it for me. He put it aside for me, with my name on it, with no deposit, and other than going into the store once, I hadn't ever bought anything there.

I think it was $725 there. But there's going to be NYS tax. If you are interested, PM me and I'll email you their telephone number.

If you don't care about VR, I think you should also look at the Tamron 18-250. He had one of those in stock and it didn't seem bad at all. The review I read on that in Popular Photography was pretty good, and you get extra range for a lot less.

My only complaint about the Nikon is that it doesn't have a zoom lock.
