pretty much my first effort at lightening.
i would have stayed out longer, but the rain was starting to drive straight at me.

thanks !
had the storm been coming from the opposite direction, i would have had a better backdrop to work with. i had to dodge the neighbors house, who for some reason kept turning on the porch light ( why i don't know seeing as you can't the lightening as well ), and a barn across the street.

only time i could get lightening i was in the house and it was north of me behind teh pine trees... not out the front where there's a field... SHEESH, I think mother nature wants to make us work for it |

yeah, no kidding. generally when we get storms they are at dusk - or well after i am sleeping, which makes timing the shot nearly impossible. i tried once - at dusk, and had no luck. this time it was dark, so i could use a long shutter. much easier !!
