Yes fake site. Google the site and look at all of the complaints...

Pay particular attnetion to where it says this site may be used to gather your credit card information. What a scary world we live in where sites like this exist.

A little off topic but:
I argue with people sometimes on the safety of online stores. A few people I work with says they NEVER shop online because they don't want to put their cc in a computer b/c they are scared of theft.
I ask them how they pay for food at local restaurants. Most said with a credit card. I then show them an article my dad gave me a few years back.
It said a local restaurant here in New Orleans was investagating credit card fraud by one or more of their employees. It seems that some of the wait staff were going into the bathrooms with credit cards and snapping pictures of both sides of the cards.

It's real easy to avoid these scams. Simply shop at one of three stores if you live in the USA (sorry, not sure how well they work elsewhere).
1. B&H
2. Adorama
3. Amazon
Shop there and you'll be happy. Shop elsewhere and you'll be screwed. |

Just as with brick & mortar stores, most online retailers are legit. There are a few, however, that are not. For some reason, photographic equipment seems to be an area where a lot of these disreputable sellers have concentrated their efforts. Still, as LanceW pointed out, there are some excellent online retailers selling photo equipment. If you really want to find out how good a retailer is, check them out at:

That's not even close to being fair. There are many, many camera gear stores out there that are safe to do business with. I have personally done business online with the following without any problems whatsoever:
Canoga Camera
Beach Camera
17th Street photo
B&H Photo
Adorama
Calumet
and there are a couple more I'm missing.

Newegg.com is great too, and they have great shipping costs. The only downside is a fairly limited selection. Great for Canon bodies, Canon lenses, and point and shoots but not much else.

Onecall is a great West Coast alternative to the stores mentioned above. Incredible customer service. Bought a large 56" TV, they lowered the price the next week. I called them and in 60 seconds they had refunded the difference. |
