Photo Exhibition - DPChallenge Forums

Well I organised a Photographic exhibition for the first time ever. The photos were predominately from two towns and were not just those of my own. My idea was to have as many photographers of all ages and skills to be able to 'show their stuff'. Well it was a success on opening night. I held it in conjunction with our local art week which made it a bit easier on me. We had about 100 people at the opening and for a town with only about 1500 people that's not a bad percentage of the population attending. I have added some photos of the set-up. I am posting this to let others who have maybe considered an exhibition to have a go. Also a BIG thanks to Judi who donated some of her photos to the exhibition. They will be auctioned and the funds donated back to the community.

Sounds like you are having a ball. I can't see my images in those shots...did ya hide them..lol!!

No I haven't gotten that far with my photos yet. I will add them later. They are very popular though.

I actually have two exhibitions in the next two months...so maybe towards the end of the year as I am planning another one for early next year.

Well done Monique! It's great to see someone getting out there and making a success of their ideas. I just wish I could have come along to see it. I hope it becomes a regular event for you.

Yes, they are being auctioned by silent auction during the week. People place their bid for the photo of their choice into the box provided and at the end of the week the highest bidder is announced. The funds go back to the community.

Really well. The photos were a huge success (I think the best part of the whole art display). I sold some of your photos with the silent auction. The money from these will be held by me and put towards the exhibition I will be holding next year! I am hoping you can judge the next one as it will be a competition. Your other photos will go down to my shop and I will sell these as well.
