I have a Manfrotto 728B tripod, had it for a while, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to reverse the center column. All the websites I look at say that it's possible. Anyone know how to do it? Manual is of no help.

| I've taken apart my SLIK tripod, but I had to just keep unscrewing parts until it came apart. This was more for packing than reversing -- mine actually has a threaded bolt on the bottom of the center post so you can just attach the camera upside-down directly, though there's no tilt/pan capability that way. |

Nope, no threaded bolt. Just a small rubber cap that covers the bottom of the tube. It's hollow when you take it off.

That small rubber cap, twist it. It inscrews the mount. If you raise the center column, you'll notice the top section unscrews by this bottom cap.

Never mind, I think I figured it out. You have to pop off that rubber cap and slide the tube out, flip it over, and then put it back in upside down.

That's pretty much what mine did too.
The bolt on the bottom may one of SLIK's "exclusive extra" features -- there's another place to attach the camera part-way down one of the tripod's legs. |
