iTunes account is free, plus if you have aol you already have an itunes account.
If you plan to purchase iTunes content, this allows them to bypass AT&T. This means its cheaper for them and cheaper for you. ITS A GOOD THING to an extent!

Plus most people interested in purchasing the iPhone will already have an iTunes account anyways. |

Actually the initial provider is AT&T. As far as phone service goes its the same arrangement every other phone manufacturer has. However they're cutting AT&T out of the media loop. No other company manufacturer's their own phones. Im sure LG jumped into the game just like they did, except they went for the el cheapo's.
