Site Council is a myth. They are randomly generated computer coded entries to control the masses. Now they are down just like roll over allowing us to run amuck.

Happy B.day Sherpet for tomorrow. I love Milo, used to have it as a treat when I was growing up because we couldnt always get it and I used to love putting cold milk in and then skimming the granules off the top!!! Yummy I havent had it in years, dont even know if you can get it here in USA.

You might not be griping, but I am. This just isn't acceptable; the forums are up, the site is running, some word (even very short word) on what is going on is appropriate. This isn't rocket science, and it isn't life or death, but enough people care (and care enough to spend money each year) that it ought to be properly and timely explained.

And it hasn't been.

Nice comment for SC appreciation week... I'm sure they are more concerned with fixing the problem at this moment than explaining what is going on. Have patience...

i hope i did not come across as rude, in any manner. i wasn't griping at it taking so long. i know i don't have a ribboner, i'm just hoping the best for the site and there are no severe server problems. the SC has my uttmost respect, so my apologies if anything wrong was taken by my statements.

let the party resume ;)

Jon, TJ's response wasn't really aimed at you, it was aimed at me.

I wasn't going to push this and post again, but since you asked . . .

It would be a stretch to read my comments as being directed even in the vicinity of the site council, who are all volunteers and who have nothing to do with the technological aspects of the site's functioning (I have found them to be nothing other than extremely helpful, and on many, many occasions fun and interesting, to boot; they are a huge asset to the site).

So, to make it clear, my comments were aimed at the site owners. I won't apologize that I expect a certain level of service as a member (and that includes being given timely information when things aren't running well); this is a commercial site, run by someone who gets paid by its fees, and these are quite substantial. I expect it to be well cared for. That this (and other) threads were funny, and creative, is a testament to its community members, and doesn't undermine my dissatisfaction in this instance even a little bit.

Can we get on with our photography now?

Best,

Rob

Rob, normally I don't respond to things like this, because I don't like confrontation, but this hit on one of my pet peeves I guess. I work in the Food and Beverage industry. Problems with service often arise, and people always want an explanation first. I have come to the thinking that it's better to fix the problem first and explain later. Even if everyone is left in the dark for a short while. Once it's fixed then people can see what's going on, and hopefully why you didn't answer their questions in the first place.

And you were correct, I was addressing you and not jerowe :) btw, I respect your opinions, but don't share them. And I too agree, let's get back to taking photos.

-TJ

There have been some really good posts by SC in this thread. I'm still laughing at a LOTF (not LOTR) reference. :-)

I went to work and came back and I can't see my blue ribbon yet. Probably Langdon went to a spree and he is stuck.
