Let me be the first to congratulate the folks who entered their motivational ideas!! There are some spectacular posters in there, SPECTACULAR!! I'm glad I didn't submit, cause that's just too much competition, but I'm gonna love voting!

Great job everyone! Well Done :)

I am begining to think I should have sat this one out
I think my idea was good but presentation looks like a childs up against some of the amazing professional shots
I wish I could just hide mine!
I dont think I will look again until the end of the week
I cant take humiliation (Joke!)

Yup, very high standard indeed, and some amazing PS (or whatever) work to put some sensational text on some of them.

I was confident of a top 10 finish with mine ..... until I saw some of the other entries *laugh*

This is the most 10's & 9's I've ever given! Seven 10's and 23 9 votes! These entries rocked the house!

I think that is a healthy way to vote.

It would be wrong, to me, to give a great photo a lower score than it should get simply because there were so many other great shots.

A "9" should be a "9" regardless of the competition, hence there may be a challenge with heaps of 9's and 10's, or an entire challenge with nothing more than a 6.

I LOVE this challenge!!! :-) I have skipped it, because of my ****** accounting exam that took all my free time for studying, but the photos are so great in this challenge! I will truly enjoy voting and commenting on them, and I guess this will be my highest-average-voted challenge since I am here!

Thank you all in advance for sharing so wonderful photos! :-) Maybe I take mine off-race when I get home. :-)))

This challenge ROCKS! I've already voted on over half and commented on most of those! I'll probably finish voting tonight or tomorrow AM - the subject is just one that really holds interest.

Yep, I've gone too far with my imagination again, based on my score that is. hahahaha. Oh well, I'll have to go check out the rest.

I was pretty pleased with my entry and was riding high until I saw the competition. Really shows the high number of PS experts in this community...I hope to learn a lot from reading the techniques used to capture these super enstries!

Wow! Lovely posters. Good work guys. I didn't enter anything this week but look forward to voting on the entries. Very good graphics work on the text and layout of the posters.

Awww, comeon. I saw 3 that I thought you entered, Jacko. I voted 'em high just 'cause I wasn't sure which was yours.

jk

This was a fun challenge to rate! Lots of good shots, many good lessons/phrases, and some funny stuff, too. Now, I have to go back and put in comments - I already have 5 on my entry, all very helpful! And I, too, gave more 10's & 9's than I have in the past 4 or 5 challenges combined. Great job, everyone!

maybe it's just me - but is nobody else struggling to see the motivational aspect of many of these photos? a lot of them seem to be very fitting for the quotes or phrases they use.. but don't really seem to show any sort of 'motivation'.. anyone else feel the same way? maybe i just thought of this challenge in the wrong way (although i'm not saying mine is necessarily any different - it's doing mediocre, especially considering how high everybody says they're scoring)

there ARE great posters among the bunch, but i'm trying to rate these as posters, not just photos.. am i looking at this the wrong way?

after reading another thread on this and looking back over the photos, i'm guessing i'm just a bit thrown off by how many of the posters look (typography probably being a main distractor for me)

hmm.. and apparrently, i might've hit the worst half of the bunch first.. they seem to be getting better from here on out.

I saw quite a few that I considered in the "inspirational" category, IMO subtly diffrent from "motivational." I did not mark down for something I considered to fall toward inspirational.
There were a few that I considered neither, and those I did mark down.
What I was surprised at was the very few submissions in the "humorous, demotivational" category. I had a good idea in this category, but didn't follow through on it for lack of time, mostly, but also because I felt it might get marked down as "not meeting challenge." I should have moved on it! there's nothing remotely like it in the challenge.

No, at first I thought the same thing. I even did my own as a motivational poster for an office/work place thing & yes lots were not within these parameters as I saw it. But then I saw them & thought who cares. Plus, there are so many different types iof work places and motivational phrases across the WORLD that I couldnt help look beyond my own box to at least recognise that while they may not be motivational posters where I work but thy might be somewhere else. Theere are just so many great shots that this little thing in my close-minded mind seemed rather irrelevant.

true. i don't know if i opened my mind, or if i simply ran into a much better bunch of photos after i posted - but i did definitely see many great posters.. and many photos that were excellent and could have gained a couple more points from me if they were strong posters as well.. but overall much more pleased than i was 30 minutes ago.

Isn't "inspiration" and "motivation" basically the same? If someone is "inspired" are they not also "motivated"?

Although you did say "subtly" different, so I may have missed what you meant at first. ;-)

When I decide to join this challenge, I thought hard and long about what I should do being a point-and shoot person. But as I see it now, I rated high those shots that are spontaneous. I think it is my "amateur" frame of mind. But anyway, the posters are really motivational/inspirational and kudos to the creativity of almost everyone who joined this challenge. I like looking at them over and over (again).

Movitivating me to want to buy a better camera, computer, and learning PS. Great challenge. So inspirational.
