Here I used available lighting from a ceiling fan above. I wanted a soft focus affect and used gaussian blur overlay layer and lowered the opacity to somewhere between 60 and 75 percent. It came out dark, just as Gordon said it would in his digital soft focus tutorial. I then adjusted curves to lighten it up and adjust the color until I came up with the image you see here.
I had lot's of fun and would encourage you to share your best open book still life! |

This is mine... the voters thought fairly well of it, and I'm pretty well satisfied, though I would change a couple things in hindsight.

That's a pretty great shot Kirbic. I like the added hands which give off shadows and add another dimension to the shot. I will have to reshoot and put some praying hands in my shot.

No book shots for posting, however I sure do like these. Gets the idea juices flowing.
