I need a new engine for my subaru wonder if this would be a good route to go. Did you use a strictly local site? I've tried just calling places but man that gets old fast.

sab - can't hurt to try craigslist and place a want ad and look through the for sale sections too.

Okinawa's Craigslist

Never looked to the right... didn't even know the number of other countries they cover.

You just happen to have an EJ20 or EJ25 or H6 lying around?

Actually it's for my outback that is sitting at my brother's back home. The body is still in great shape so I figured a new engine would be just like buying a slightly used car. Biggest problem is that since it is a 2000 it's not something that is easy to find at a junk yard.

Thanks for the link technostorm...I'll check that out.

I didn't notice you said you need i thought you had!

You really dont need a junkyard. You can get parts for a wrecked 2007 already lol much less a 2000, Dismantlers are different. They buy wrecked cars from insurance auctions and them strip down whats usable stock and sell. Plenty out in california.

Not sure where you reside right now but if its japan then this doesnt help too much over sea's.
