I have been asked to look for a new compact digital camera for work.
Most of the time it will be used for taking pictures of circuit boards, computer systems etc. indoors, which are then most often attached to emails for reference. Occasionally it will be used for writing in-house build manuals etc.
Features:
Vibration reduction as this should allow pictures to be taken without the flash (which often blows out the detail) and a good macro facility are high priorities.
Now the tough bit - the budget is 100 to 200 (max) GBPounds ( approx 170 to 340 USD when converted to UK high street prices)
I've not taken much notice of what is available in the compact market recently. Any Suggestions, please?

Canon Powershot S3 IS. Superb compact, with very good macro and Image Stabilization. Probably beyond the budget. Go back to your boss, tell him/her that saving 50 pounds now will go at the cost of picture quality. Penny wise, pound foolish, as you guys tend to say. |

Looks like they can be bought for around 204.99 so yes, its at the top end but probably not out of the running.
Any others, anyone? |
