Im looking at some used Canon Lenses mainly along the lines of Tamron and Sigma.

Ive noticed several that are EF autofocus lenses but they state 35mm only.

I cant image it not being okay on a digital what problems could be expected, The frame on 35mm i larger then APS-C.

The only problem that I can think of affects only Sigma, and that is the fact that Sigma lenses often need to be "rechipped" at some point, because Sigma reverse engineers the Canon communications protocol (they are not licensed). I'd be wary of buying old Sigma glass unless you know that either it will work on your body without rechipping, or that it can be rechipped. Sigma is good about doing it, usually for free, but only for so long, then "parts are unavailable."

Thats cool. I might buy a 50mm 1.8 II New and sell it to my boss after letting him borrow it. I just bought an elan/eos 100 off a member here and dont have any canon lenses.

ALso found a Tamron 70-300 for 100-144 bucks and even a canon 35-80 for 50-70 bucks. Not sure what i want to get its just a play toy.

A better entry level telephoto lens is the Canon 75-300mm. I think they are like $140 new. That or the non-apo Sigma for like $130.

For a everyday lens, there are a lot of 28-80ish out there that came as the kit lens on the film rebels. They should be cheap.

The 75 to 300 might be good Im not looking to really buy lenses for canon, pentax thing and all but my boss is interested in the 75 to 300 and your right at 140 new, I could probably work up a trade with him when im done with it.

The 28-80 kit lens on the Rebel is 109 dollars new i can get one but the 35 to 80 is a bit cheaper.

I looked at Amazon and they have it for $125. I think I may pick one up to use until I can spend the money on the lens I want, the 200mm f/2.8L.

I am using my lenses from my old EOS Elan II on my digital. I have the Canon 28-55?? (kit lens) and a Tamron 28-300mm. I gave my Sigma to my brother in law because he was still using 35mm rebel. It did not work so well with my digital
