I'm doing formal cap and gown pictures of some of the graduates (including my son) tomorrow. I need to go to Michael's and buy more fake roses for the group picture - I want all of the girls to be holding them. So, wish me luck. I'm hoping to make enough money to buy a backdrop close to or identical to the one the contracted photographer uses.
I was in the office today trying to talk to the Year Book Nazi. A mother of one of the kids I did the senior pic for came over and very tearfully told me and the Year Book Nazi that if I hadn't done those pictures at such low prices they wouldn't have been able to get any. Then, she asked the Year Book Nazi if she had any idea how many kids wouldn't have even sat for the senior pictures if it hadn't been for me because who wants to see a proof of a really great pic of their kid when they don't have a prayer of affording it. She said she did know because she'd heard the same thing from several other parents.
My step-mother said that at her school (she teaches) that you HAVE to use a certain photographer or your picture can't be in the year book. That doesn't seem right because if some kids really don't bother to sit because they know they can't afford the pictures.... well, everyone should have their picture in the year book when they're a senior. |
