i had no problems a few weeks ago, setting it on the f707 i had for a week (long story) and taking my soft focus entry shot... but am having a lot of difficulty setting it with my f717. i'm at home, rather than my apartment.. so i figure lighting is probably the reason.. but are there any other reasons that i might be having trouble calibrating my white balance for the lights we have inside? i'm trying to set it the same way i did with the 707 - aimed at a few sheets (stacked on on top of the other.. just to avoid being semi-transparent) of white printer paper.. have had no luck thus far. any help would be appreciated.

does it have a manual (pre adjusted-tungsten, cloudy, etc?) setting? I use the Kodak gray card to do my settings.

it does have pre adjusted settings, but was hoping to do it manually if possible. aren't gray cards are for metering only? or is there some way the meter settings could be affecting my white balancing?
