Ok, so how many people read teh full description of the challenge, because instead of boundry shots, I see alot of pictures of things on the edge of other things. While on the edge was a cute name, seems to me not many people read that it was to be a boundry.

it's not likely necessary to get all uptight about the symantics of it. it's supposed to be a theme. can you see how 'object A' on it's side says "Edge"? good. then it fits. Let's move on.

An edge can also still be a boundary. It all depends on YOUR definition of edge. I can see a lot there that may not be a completely classic boundary, say between land/water, land/sky, but that are perfectly legitimate boundaries.

You may not be seeing the boundary in all cases, but in some cases it may be that it is there.

Things are not ALWAYS as the photographer got it wrong .... it can also be the viewer.

You are right and I have gone this direction. I had some sad and disappointing experiences in the recent time, and this is what I wanted to share, no matter how I will score. It was a boundary that made me angry, hissy, sad and disappointed, maybe it won't mean anything for the voters. And the description beginned with: "there are many boundaries in our life."

The description also mentions "transitions," which best describes my shot... but is being rather ignored by those who have commented on it. READ THE DESCRIPTION FOLKS. Ok, now I'll get back in the holiday spirit :)

The name of challenge is... "On the Edge". Not on the boundary. Obvious that one meaning to edge is boundary. But when the name of challenge is: On the Edge... anyone is free to shot anything that is included in a disctionary for the word edge!
Furthermore, the transitions, between boudarys or edges are included in it. In my view this is the challenge with the highest fit to theme percents. Almost all images had a thing that can be, although with mercifull eyes, viewed as edge meaning.

Every one has thier own opinion, and we are involved in a JUDGED contest. Any time you have those two things you will always have differences. I think every one here wants to think they will win when they submit, or else they wouldn't have entered the photo.

You do your best some times it does better then others but there is no need to complain about. I happen to think I had a great entry and no matter where I finish I will still think that.

I have two goals for each challenge and they are to meet the description and submit a photo I like. cause I wan't feed back on my skills as a photographer not my skill of being able to figure out what a panel of judges would think.

just my .2 cents

"On the Edge" was the name of the challenge, yes, not the challenge, you have to read the full discription to see what the challenge is. The challenge was boundaries, "On the Edge" was just a cute name for it, and I think that reading the discription is more important than reading the name and shooting, which, for example, is why we had so many money shots with actual money in it, because people aren't reading the discription.

I just got done scoring this challenge, and I'm impressed with the high quality of these photos. Almost all of them were good, and only a couple made me scratch my head and wonder if they met the challenge.
