I've managed to upload and setup Gallery on my new webspace. I am able to upload 1-10 images at a time, so things are shaping up well. Shouldn't take too long before I'm fully operational, but...

I just cant seem to upload from a directory on the server, as they have said can be done. They say to FTP the images to a folder on the server and then point the software to it. I just can't get it to work.

Any help from somebody with experience with this would be great...

Well, what's the problem exactly? Do you want to make an FTP connection, or...? If I can I help you.

The problem is that Gallery has a maximum simmultaneous file upload of 10. If I have a gallery of say 50 -60 pics, this can be pretty long to upload. They offer that you can upload, through FTP, all the files to a directory on your webspace. Then you can point Gallery to that directory and it will get ALL the images in one single upload action, and create your gallery.

I have uploaded all the images (thru FTP) to my webspace. Somehow, I am not able to point it to the directory. It says that the full path has to be entered. I've tried every variation of path with no success.

Anybody who uses gallery and might have encountered or used this method of upload?

Will Gallery Remote work with 1and1? Have you tried it?

Gallery also supports uploading a .zip file containing a bunch of photos. But I agree, Gallery Remote is the best option.

I'll give it a try. Thanks.

PS. Eddy, I sent you a PM. Have you had a chance to read it? Any help would be great. I'm stumped.

Thanks, I think I'll be able to work with that info.
