Damn! Sold 7 of my prints on DPCPrints this month, and I WANT to know where they are! (C: I love that I have sold 18 and have about 10 referrals (want that all to keep going, too), but not knowing the type of audience buying them is frustrating (but tolerable). Especially if it is some of my relatives buying them behind my back. (C:
By the way, there was a thread about cleaning up pics in your portfolio. I thought about it, but didn't, and one (actually four) that I had on the chopping block has sold. So, this reinforces my thoughts that you have no idea who is out there and what they may be looking for. Lots of different types of tastes and wants. Put what you want in there.

Just out of curiosity, are you "advertising" your prints anywhere besides here? How long have you had your prints available? Just curious, I'd be over the moon if I sold just one or had a single referral ;-)

I have went to some "specialty" areas like different local, small town lists and message boards and posted info. Tractor websites, rural things (since I have a bunch of that). Have my own webpages up, and gonna be redoing that again to fir on 1and1 soon. I have been asked to do a self "portrait" of info for a small town webpage (in the area of where I grew up). I have links to both my sites in all my email signatures. I have posted example flyers at the hospital where I work and on their ad pages. Flyers at the university in town (need to do that again). Hand out self made business cards. I need to try other things, I have heard work for people. This may be a good start to people posting other ideas. Anyone?
Like to try to get some framed ones into some galleries, but not sure on the process. Or at Starbucks (how did that go Setz?) Or other little businesses. Hmmm

Wow, that is definitely advertising. Time to get off my butt ;-)
Thanks for the ideas!
As for another thought, here in Atlanta there is a place called the Gallery Cafe- a restaurant that has local photographer's work on the walls, for sale. There might be other places like that...
