Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro

I'm now very confused. I registered with 1 and 1. I managed to get a simple site running, mostly for testing purposes, as I'm still just learning how this works. //s91886113.onlinehome.us

I decided to get a proper domain: //www.mariomelillo.com.

I cannot get my new domain to point to my space, although I have registered it through 1and1, and it appears on my list of available domains. They are both pointing to the same home directory, so they should both show me the same thing.

It's not working. Any help would be great.

Sometimes it takes a bit of time for a change to be recorded. But, I did notice as I clicked to your link that there is a period after "com" which I don't think you intend to have there.

Just to be sure... have you pointed your domain name nameservers to those of 1 and 1? Once you have changed nameservers it can take up to 24 to 48 hours to propogate.

Your domain info doesn't show up in whois yet so it probably just isn't ready...as tfaust said, it can take up to 48 hours.

On the domain control panel in 1and1, it says that the domain is ready. It went through several phases before: requesting, waiting for approval, etc. Then it said READY. Maybe it's not really. Guess I'll just wait...

did you move the site from 1 and 1 to another host?>

who is hosting mariomellilo.com

if you switched hosts then the old host has to release the files, and domain to the new host, and that takes some time.

your best bet with a host is to pay for it
try www.burlee.com

thats who i use, and i'm in northern vermont, so montreal should be fast enough www.route108.com

It was registered through 1and1. That's why I thought when it said ready, they meant it. The hosting costs $5.99/year.

The ready status just means that your domain selection has been processed and reserved for you. I only waited for 24 hours on mine. Click on the check icon in your domain overview control panel to verify that your nameservers are pointing to your domain every now and then. This also depends on your ISP, so wait for 24-48 hours. www.mariomellilo.com might work for the first 24 hours and mariomellilo.com for the next 48 hours. Also, when your domain is working, make sure to activate external domain name when you create an email that has an extension of your domain.
